The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, has begun a death investigation, after the death of a 48 year-old Regina male overnight. Although it is very early in this investigation and there are still many unanswered questions, police are treating this as a homicide investigation.
At approximately 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015, police were dispatched to a house in the 1500 block of Robinson Street, for a report of a person injured. Police and EMS arrived and found a male, in the residence, who was confirmed deceased. The Coroner has been requested and Forensic Identification and Major Crimes investigators are involved in this investigation. Patrol members will hold the scene secure until more is known about the death. Early tasks in the investigation included confirming the identity of the deceased male and ensuring that his family was notified of his death. At this early stage, there is no other information that can be made public; however this event is being investigated as a homicide. This investigation is ongoing.
