On August 28, 2015, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Regina Police Service conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Winnipeg Street.
Further investigation resulted in the seizure of 709.49 grams of marihuana, a sawed off .22 calibre rifle, four loaded magazines, two canisters of bear spray and a pair of brass knuckles. All three occupants, a 19 year old male, a 15 year old male and 18 year old female, all from Regina, were arrested and subsequently charged.
Nineteen year-old Tyler Joseph BITTERNOSE, DOB: 1996-04-20, of Regina, 18 year-old Karris Jade STEPHENSON, DOB: 1997-01-09 and a 14 year-old male who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are facing charges of Trafficking in Scheduled Substance, Section 5(1) CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act); Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, Section 95(1)(a) C.C.; Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a motor vehicle, Section 94(1)(a)(ii) C.C. ; Possession of a Weapon, Section 88 C.C.; Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Section 91(2) C.C. BITTERNOSE is facing an additional charge of Resist Arrest, Section 129(a) C.C.
The two adults appeared in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday August 31, 2015. The male youth appeared in Youth Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday August 31, 2015.
