The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, has found that there is no criminal aspect to the death, yesterday, of a 14 year-old male youth. The Office of the Chief Coroner will continue the death investigation to determine the circumstances of the boy’s death.
This investigation began at about 12:21 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, when police and other emergency responders were dispatched to the area of Fines Drive at Coleman Crescent for a report of a male youth, possibly deceased, in a creek at that location. In spite of efforts to revive the victim, he was pronounced deceased at hospital at approximately 1:30 p.m. After thorough investigation into this tragic incident, it has been determined that there is nothing suspicious (criminal) about the death. The family of the deceased young male has been notified, but his name will not be made public by the Regina Police Service as this is not a criminal case.
The investigation into the circumstances of the male’s death will continue, led by the Office of the Chief Coroner, assisted by police.
