A 35 year-old male and a 21 year-old female have been charged in connection with a robbery that occurred in Regina overnight.
At approximately 8:47 p.m., on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, police were dispatched to a business in the 1900 block of Broad Street. A short time earlier, a 20 year-old male and a 14 year-old female, were approached by a group (believed to be four males and a female), all of whom had their faces covered. The suspects robbed the victims of a cell phone, purse, winter jacket and back pack and then ran, eastbound. By the time the incident was reported to police, the suspects could not be found. Later, at approximately 10:22 p.m., police were dispatched to the Regina General Hospital for a report of a male, who had entered the premises with apparent stab wounds. The 28 year-old male victim was taken for treatment, while police investigation led to a house in the 1900 block St. John Street. When police were allowed to enter, they found a female in possession of items matching the description of property taken in the earlier robbery in the 1700 block of Broad Street. At the hospital, further investigation revealed evidence that a male companion of the stabbing victim was the subject of a warrant and also in possession of clothing matching the description of clothing stolen in the robbery on the 1700 block Broad Street. Subsequent investigation led to charges against these individuals.
