The Regina Police Service is asking for information from any members of the public who may have witnessed a motor vehicle collision that occurred this morning (July 31st) at approximately 9:09 a.m. in the area of Albert Street and 4th Avenue, involving a Ford Aspire and a Ford Windstar van. A 39 year-old male driver and a 34 year-old female passenger in the car were taken to hospital with what were initially believed to be minor injuries; however, the injuries to the 34 year-old female are now believed to be more serious than previously thought.
The preliminary investigation indicates the car was proceeding northbound on Albert Street approaching the intersection at 4th Avenue. A minivan was southbound on Albert Street and making a left-turn (or east) onto 4th Avenue. The van and car came into collision and the car rolled onto its roof. The two occupants of the car were assessed by EMS and transported to hospital. The injuries to the female passenger are now described as serious in nature. Police have gathered statements from the participants and some witnesses but believe there may be other witnesses to this event who have not yet been in touch with police.
