The Regina Police Service is asking the public for any information relating to a serious assault that occurred overnight in Central Park, which is located in the area of 14th Avenue and Scarth Street. A 35 year-old male is in hospital with injuries that were initially described as life-threatening; however, there has been some improvement in the victim’s condition.
Police were dispatched to 14th Avenue and Scarth Street at about 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014, for a report of a group of males beating up a male victim. The suspects (the number of which is not confirmed) fled as police arrived. Police did take a number of people into custody, but those interviews are ongoing so their roles are still undetermined. Investigation continues to ensure that all suspects have been identified and located.
