Two women, ages 41 and 22, have been charged with Second Degree Murder in connection with the murder of a 53 year-old male, whose body was discovered in a burned house on Sunday, March 23, 2014, in the 1400 block of Wascana Street. Fifty-three year-old Ray Allen YACEVICH, DOB: 1960-09-02, was found in the house after firefighters extinguished a house fire. By Thursday, March 27th, police confirmed that the death of YACEVICH was considered a homicide case.
The women, 41 year-old Rosalyn Faye WILM and 22 year-old Sarah Dawn Louisa WILM, were the subject of an earlier release; they were being sought by police out of a concern for their safety as well as the desire to learn what they may have known about the fire and the death. Both women and the deceased male were all co-residents of the same house and, initially, the roles of the women were not clear. The women were located by RCMP on Monday, March 31, 2014, in the Kamsack District. As the result of continued investigation into the homicide by Regina Police Major Crimes investigators, both women were subsequently charged.
Forty-one year-old Rosalyn Faye WILM, DOB: 1972-11-28, of Regina, and 22 year-old Sarah Dawn Louisa WILM, DOB: 1991-09-26, of Regina, are charged with Second Degree Murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
