On April 9, 2014, at 8:01 a.m., the owner of a 1997 Chrysler Intrepid called to report her vehicle stolen over night from a driveway in the 100 block of Toronto Street North. There were no suspects at the time.
On April 10, 2014, at 6:07 a.m. police attended to a fire call in the lane of 2300 Elphinstone Street, where the 1997 Chrysler Intrepid was on fire. The Regina Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire which caused extensive damage to the vehicle as well as a garage and garbage bin nearby.
Around the same time of the fire, two suspects were observed attempting to steal a vehicle in the 2400 block Garnet Street. The vehicle window was smashed and ignition damaged, but suspects fled on foot without the vehicle. These suspects are believed to be responsible for setting the stolen Chrysler Intrepid on fire prior to attempting to steal this vehicle.
Suspects are described as
- Male wearing a dark hat and baggy jeans
- Either a male or female wearing brown and orange jacket
