An 80 year-old Regina male is deceased after a collision on Monday, September 30, 2013, between a bus and a pedestrian at the intersection of Parliament Avenue and Rae Street in Regina. The Regina Police Service is continuing its investigation into the collision. For motorists: the intersection is once again open to vehicle traffic.
Police received word this afternoon that an 80 year-old male, who was struck by a bus this morning, had died in hospital. Police were dispatched at about 10:58 a.m. this morning: Monday, September 30, 2013, to the intersection of Parliament Avenue and Rae Street for a report of a vehicle/pedestrian collision, involving a City of Regina transit bus. Police and EMS arrived and an 80 year-old male was transported to hospital. His condition was described as serious. Police closed the intersection to traffic in order to gather evidence and information necessary for the investigation. The intersection was re-opened to traffic at approximately 3:20 p.m. today.
The name of the deceased person will not be released at this time. The investigation into this collision is ongoing.
