Yesterday, September 3, members of the Regina Police Service were dispatched to a house in the 3100 block of 6th Avenue North for a report that a 47 year-old male, who was wanted in connection with an incident the night before, had returned to the house. The victim is a 49 year-old female, who had called police at about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013, reporting that she had been assaulted by a 47 year-old male, with whom she had a relationship. Tuesday, September 3, 2013, police received a call from the same victim, indicating that the male had returned. Police patrol members established a safety perimeter around the house and negotiators began the process of negotiating a safe resolution for all involved. The suspect was arrested without incident, shortly after 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
Forty seven year old Lance Antoyne Thomas POITRAS, DOB:1966/03/10, of Regina, is charged with Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(a)], Assault [CC 266], and Unauthorized Possession of a firearm [CC 91(1)]
POITRAS made his first appearance on these charges in provincial court this morning at 9:30.
