Members of the Regina Police Service have established a perimeter around a house on 6th Avenue North and are negotiating with a 47 year-old male who is wanted in connection with an incident of threatening that occurred on Monday, September 2, 2013 at about 9:30 p.m. The male is believed to be inside the house and is, at this time, refusing to come out and talk to police.
In the original incident, police received a phone call at about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013, from a 49 year-old female who said she had been threatened by a 47 year-old male with whom she has a relationship. The male left the house and police were not able to locate him. Today, Tuesday, September 3, 2013, police received a call from the same victim, indicating that the male had returned. Police established a safety perimeter around the house and patrol, canine and negotiators are onscene. Police have advised the neighbours and have also notified schools in the surrounding neighbourhood. At this time, the suspect is contained in the house and, although no firearm has been seen, given the possibility that he may have access to firearms, police are taking the appropriate precautions. It is not known if there is anyone, other than the suspect, in the house.
Police are onscene and continuing to negotiate to attain a safe resolution to this call for the public, the police and the suspect himself.
