A 47 year-old Regina male has been charged in connection with a June 25th vehicle/pedestrian collision, in which the vehicle driver failed to remain at the scene. The collision resulted in serious injuries to a 53 year-old male.
On June 25, 2013, at about 5:37 p.m., police were dispatched to the 200 block of Smith Street for a report of a vehicle/pedestrian collision. It was reported that the vehicle involved had left the scene. Police and EMS attended and located the victim, a 53 year-old male, who was taken to hospital by EMS. Police searched the immediate area and were successful in locating the suspect vehicle, which led them to identification of a possible suspect. Further investigation led to confirmation of the identity of the suspect and the arrest, on July 2, 2013, of a 47 year-old Regina male.
Forty-seven year-old Lawrence David NESKAR, DOB: 1965-11-07, of Regina is charged with Hit and Run Causing Bodily Harm [252(1.2) CC]; Aggravated Assault [268(1) CC]; Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle [249(1)(a) CC]; and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Disqualified [259(4) CC]. NESKAR made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013.
