The Regina Police Service has charged 3 youths in relation to several bin and garage fires over the weekend.
On June 1, 2013 between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. police and fire department received reports of six fires started in the area of the 1000-1300 block of Athol Street, the 2700 block of Avonhurst Drive, and the 700 block of Cameron Street. Five fires were started in garbage bins, and one was started in a utility trailer and spread to a garage. After receiving some information from a call to our communications centre, police were able to locate a group of seven youths. Four of these youth were under the age of twelve. Three were jointly charged with Arson – damage to property [CC 434]. The three charged youth cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
