The Regina Police Service is investigating a house explosion that occurred last night, Monday, May 6, 2013, in the 3200 block of 13th Avenue. Three males were injured as a result.
Just before 8:00 p.m., on Monday, May 6, 2013, police were dispatched to a house in the 3200 block of 13th Avenue for a report of an explosion and people injured. When police arrived, firefighters were already at the scene and it was apparent there had been an explosion inside the house. Police located two males outside the house and found a third male nearby a short time later. All three had suffered burn injuries and were taken to hospital by EMS. Two of the males are 18; the third is 19 years old. A 39 year-old female, who was also apparently inside the house, was uninjured. Police moved spectators to a safer distance and blocked traffic into the area until more was known. A short time later a 19 year-old female came to the house and investigation into her connection to the event led to a drug-related charge against her. Two of the injured males are still in hospital for treatment of their injuries. The explosion and the circumstances leading up to it are still under investigation. The explosion caused significant structural damage to the house.
One person is charged at this stage, although it is anticipated there will be more charges in this case. Nineteen year-old Natasha Myria FRITZKE, DOB: 1993-07-30, of Regina, is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking cannabis marihuana [5(2) CDSA. FRITZKE made her first court appearance on the charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
