The Regina Police Service has laid charges resulting from a two vehicle collision at Dewdney Ave and Pinkie Road on September 28, 2012. The collision occurred at approximately 9:52 p.m. when a vehicle being driven northbound on Pinkie Road disobeyed a Stop sign and struck a vehicle that was westbound on Dewdney Avenue. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 28-year-old male, died as a result of injuries sustained.
The charged person was driving the northbound vehicle. The driver, a 16-year-old female, can not be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The 16-year-old female is charged with Disobey a Stop Sign, Fail to Obey License Restriction (Novice driver with too many passengers) and Minor (Under 19) Possess Liquor, and will be required to appear in Traffic Safety Court.
Alcohol consumption by the accused was not a causative factor.
