An 18 year-old male has been charged with Uttering Threats after investigation into remarks made to others and a post on a social media page. The accused is a high school student in a Regina public school.
Police were called to investigate at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, after receiving information that a student had made comments to fellow students a day earlier that were of a concerning nature to a staff member. The comments were not directed towards the other students but were rather an expression of violence directed at the general public. Investigation into this incident also revealed a similar post alleged to have been made by the same individual on the social media site, Facebook In the course of the investigation, police determined that the male had not formulated a plan and did not have access to weapons; however, there was evidence sufficient to lay a charge of Uttering Threats.
Eighteen year-old Connor HEMINGWAY, DOB: 1994-07-08, OF Regina is charged with Uttering Threats, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. HEMINGWAY made his first court appearance in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012.
