The Regina Police Services wishes to make the public aware of incidents that have been taking place in our community. Yesterday in Regina, two distraction theft incidents are alleged to have been carried out. A distraction theft is a type of theft that uses two or more people. Typically one or more thieves distract the victim or store personnel while the others steal things like jewellery or cash.
The incidents yesterday saw two males and two females involved. One couple distracted jewellery store employees while the other attempted to access locked display cases and back offices. In one incident the thieves were successful in stealing jewellery. This happened at two separate locations in Regina yesterday. It appears that these same 4 suspects have been working their way east across Canada.
Female 1 is described as Aboriginal, 5’4”, brown eyes, shoulder length dark brown hair, yellow jacket, white shirt, with an expensive looking ring on her finger. Female 2 is described as Aboriginal, 5’1”, stocky build with medium brown hair, a round face, and dark eyes. Male 1 is described as East Indian, 5’10”, average build, ball cap, dark eyes, grey shirt, coloured bag worn across his body. Male 2 is described as East Indian, 5’10”, average build, wearing a ball cap, dark eyes, always on his cell phone, dark shorts and dark high top sneakers. Both males are described to be in their mid 20s.
