A 28 year-old Regina male appeared in Provincial Court this morning on charges related to a weekend Break and Enter and Assault with a Weapon.
At approximately 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012, police were dispatched to a house in the 1000 block of Broder Street for a report of a Break and Enter in progress. The victim, a 50 year-old male reported that he woke to noises in his house and realized there was someone else in the living room. The resident confronted the suspect, striking him and chasing him out of the house. The victim then followed the suspect to the area of 4th Avenue and Atkinson Street. When police arrived they saw the suspect, holding a rake and trying to flight with the victim, who was retreating. The suspect fled. A canine officer an dog.tracked a male to a house in the 900 block of Broder Street. Subsequent investigation led to charges against a 28 year-old male. Police also executed warrants for the arrest of this person in connection with incidents on November 3, 2011, in which three cars in the 1800 block of Saskatchewan Drive were broken into and contents stolen.
Twenty-eight year-old Errol Lewis GORDON, DOB: 1983-11-07, of Regina is charged with Break and Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence [348(1)(a) CC]; Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC]; three charges of Mischief under $5,000 [430(4) CC]; and Theft Under $5,000. GORDON made his first appearance on these charges in provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012.
