The Regina Police Service has received word that a 17 year-old male, who was the subject of a Warrant of Arrest on charges of Escape Custody and Assault Causing Bodily Harm has been arrested in Prince Albert.
On Saturday, May 7, 2011, the Prince Albert Police Service contacted the Regina Police Service to say that the 17 year-old male was arrested without incident in Prince Albert. The youth is alleged to have used violence as a means of escaping from the Paul Dojack Youth Centre, an in-custody facility for young persons, on May 1, 2011.
Pursuant to Section 110(4) of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the Regina Police Service made application to a Provincial Youth Court Judge for authorization to publicly identify the Young Person named in the warrant. That authorization was granted on May 6, 2011 and, in accordance with Section 110(5) of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, will cease to have effect at end of day, Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
