The Regina Police Service is investigating incidents of Mischief Under $5,000 that occurred this past weekend, causing damage to at least 18 vehicles. Police are advising residents and vehicle owners to be more alert to any suspicious activity.
On October 23, 2010, a Regina Police Service member was dispatched to a residence in the 4900 block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of damage to the resident’s vehicles. After taking the initial report, police found that a number of vehicles along Dewdney Avenue, from the 4900 to the 5500 blocks, had had either one or two tires slashed. At this time, it appears that at least 18 vehicles have had tires slashed. Police investigation indicates the offences occurred between midnight on Friday, October 22nd and about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 23rd. Police have also interviewed victims to determine whether anyone saw or heard anything unusual during those hours. At this time there is not enough information to identify suspects.
